Sending a Ghost newsletter from Android

In Ghost, a newsletter is a post that also goes to your subscribers' inboxes. Nib lets you make that call from the phone: which newsletter, which audience, now or at a set time.

Ghost does the sending, through your site and your mail provider. Nib has no server, so no subscriber address passes through one.

How it works

  1. Write the post

Same composer, same post. Ghost treats the newsletter and the post as one document, and so does Nib.

  2. Pick the newsletter and the audience

If your site runs more than one newsletter, choose which. Then choose who gets it: all subscribers, free members or paid members, the same segments Ghost offers.

  3. Preview it and send yourself a test

See the email as Ghost renders it, then send one test to an address you type in. The test goes only after you confirm.

  4. Confirm the send

You can unpublish a post. You cannot recall an email. Nib asks you to confirm and says what is about to happen.

  5. Check delivery afterwards

Nib shows delivered, opened and failed counts. Failures stay visible, so a letter that bounced for part of your list does not look like a success.

Wrong link in a sent email? Nib can change where a tracked link in a sent newsletter points, for everyone who has not clicked it yet. This depends on your Ghost version and settings.

The rest of the members side

Newsletters

See your site's newsletters and their subscriber counts, and edit their settings without opening Ghost Admin.

Members

Search members, open one to see subscriptions and labels, and edit the record. Handy when someone emails you and you want to look them up.

Tiers and offers

Create and edit paid tiers and their offers, so a launch discount does not wait for a laptop.

Your list stays on your site

Nib reads member data from your Ghost site while a screen shows it and keeps no copy on the phone.

Newsletters are part of Nib Pro

Sending newsletters and the members, tiers and offers screens are in Pro. Writing, drafts, publishing and the offline queue are free.
